To viewers of my paintings: My concept of visual art and its place in society changes the longer I am an artist. When I started painting in college I discovered that painting could help me explore my world. Gradually, I realized that I had discovered the world of my own potential. Art for me at that point was an exploration of self. Eventually, I started seeing my "self" in relation to the world. This was a process of looking for meaning in what I was doing as an artist. I realized that painting was an important creative element in my life. I continued to develop my skills so that I could share this universal language of imagery with others. My paintings were dealing with emotional experiences at that time. Currently, my work is not so personal; instead, it deals with everyday life. I analyze myself and others then record these observations in my paintings. I believe that a painting should offer to the viewer something to enhance their life experience. I believe that artists have a most important role in society: to teach people how to live creatively. I paint for pure pleasure: Accepting the adventure, Sharing my joy.
